Tom Blake has a lot of items for sale. He is upgrading his brewing equipment and looking to move his used items. Click here for a document with some pictures and the items listed.

Oktoberfest was outstanding. There was rain most of the morning but it finally stopped before the Premium ticket holders were allowed in the festival. Then at 2, the gates were open to all other ticket holders and it got quite crowded. 3 Great bands provided good music that everyone enjoyed with much dancing. Lots of homebrew was enjoyed as well as so many other great commercial and craft beers. Finally at 7 pm, last call was made and the huge crowd departed. The 10th annual Oktoberfest was a complete success !

October Meeting

The October meeting was again held at the Fox and Hound on North Tryon St but held on September 24th. This was due to getting everything ready for the upcoming Oktoberfest. There was an AHA club competition, for any Imperial Brews, with Bill Lynch taking the win with a Russian Imperial Stout. As you can see, there was a number of Stone Beers on hand for our drinking pleasures. There was also a good number of homebrews and meads brought by the members . Was a very good meeting,

Jeff is our 2008 VP of Communications. Charles Scheffer got Jeff interested in the club and brewing. Charles brought him to a meeting in December of 2005 and he joined at that time. Lisa Johnson finally gave him the big push to brew as Jeff brewed his first batch at a club brew session held at her house in February 2008. His favorite style to brew is the English ESB and his favorite commercial beer is Foothills Rainbow Trout ESB.

Brent got into brewing because of his love for beer and all the different ingredients that can be used to brew the different styles. He first brewed in 2001 but got away from brewing for a while. He returned to brewing back in June. He had attended a CBM meeting with Ben Hsiang and joined at that time. His favorite style to brew is a Stout and his favorite commercial beers are " All Magic Hat beers."
