2008 Mead Day

2008 Mead day was held on August 2nd at Alternative Beverage with a good crowd attending. There were many that had never tasted a Mead before. They were introduced to the Redstone Black Raspberry Mead. Everyone really liked the Mead and there were many other commercial and homebrewed Meads tasted throughout the day. Jess gave a welcome to everyone that came and introduced Cliff Ellis, and he gave a great talk about general Beekeeping. Then Gary Cathey and Kevin Martin gave a talk and made a Mead to show everyone the steps to making a good Mead. Then everyone took a lunch break where Jess furnished Hot Dogs and Hamburgers and many people brought some great side dishes. After lunch the meadmaker group began making their meads with the help of Gary, Kevin and Jess. This was a great fun day for all with many great people, lots of great foods and many great commercial and homebrewed meads. You need to plan to attend next year where the meadmakers from this session will bring their finished meads back for tasting.

Was a really fun day at 2008 Mead Day !
