About the Carolina Brewmasters

Carolina BrewMasters

"Orville never flew without his own brew"

Who are the Carolina BrewMasters?

We are a non-profit club whose members enjoy making, tasting, sharing, and enjoying beer. Our members live in or around the Charlotte, North Carolina metropolitan area and range in experience levels from first time homebrewers to experts in judging and making great homebrews, Ciders and Meads ! We meet at 6:30pm the first Wednesday of each month at various Charlotte restaurant locations for regular meetings  where we discuss upcoming club activities and enjoy a sampling of homebrewed and microbrewed beer.

We also meet occasionally at a member's house for a brew session or a beer tasting. This is a great opportunity to learn about different tricks, methods, and gadgets that other homebrewers use. In addition to these regular monthly activities, the club also holds annual parties (Octoberfest & Christmas), organizes a national homebrew competition, and various other activities.

Visitors are always welcome! And membership is a measly $15, which quickly pays for itself in discounts at local brewing supply stores. Please contact our VP of Recruitment for more information.

The Club's Calendar will keep you up to date regarding our activities.

If you have any questions or comments just let the Webmaster know.

The CBM Homebrew Safety Announcement.

Firstly, we are a Homebrew and Beer Appreciation club, not a Beer Drinking club.

So:

  1. Please allow club member homebrews to be sampled first once we break from the business portion of the meeting. As much as we like and appreciate your bringing commercial beers hold off for about 45 minutes or so before cracking them to give club members a chance to get feedback on the fine ale’s and lagers they’ve brewed.
  1. We want you all to get home safely. Please refrain from overindulging at this meeting and all CBM sponsored events.
  1. Remember to bring a small sampling cup for yourself to each meeting.
  1. Only small tasting glasses are appropriate for sampling. A 6 oz. or smaller glass should be used (exhibit samples of acceptable and unacceptable glassware).  If you are a new member or visitor please come see me and will try to get you a sampling glass.
  1. If you are approached by someone looking for you to pour a sample of your beer into a pint glasses (or large soda cup), you can show your intelligence and good taste by NOT making that pour. Its best if you don’t make us speak to you privately about this.
  1. You may be able to get a small 3 oz. disposable plastic cup from the bar if you don’t have a suitable glass or we may be able to supply one.

In closing:  Please pay your tab at the end of the night, and remember to tip your wait staff if you received good service.
