BJCP - Beer Judge Certification Program

Written by VP of Communications on . Posted in About CBM

The Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) is the principal organization that trains and certifies beer judging and evaluation skills in the US.

In addition to managing their judging exam schedule, they also maintain and publish Style Guidelines for the 28 categories of beer, mead, and cider.

CBM enthusiastically supports members in their effort to get BJCP-certified by offering the exam annually and subsidizing the cost of the exam.

Zymurgy Magazine has published some articles about judging in the past:

Sensory Analysis by John Palmer
So You Want To Be A Beer Judge by Gordon Strong
Think Like A Judge by Gordon Strong

Complete Beer Fault Guide by Thomas Barnes
